________________________________________________________ Shasta Minis Deliver Holiday Cheer to Vets The Hills Angels Wheel Chair Drill Team with Shasta Mini members. lthough Shasta Minis is a brand new car club representing Northern California, their membership has hit the ground with all tires spinning. While only in existence a few months the club is busy engaging in runs all over Northern Califor- nia, as well as to the far flung North of Penticton, BC, and as far South as Solvang, CA. The group, based in the scenic Mt. Shasta area attracts mem- bers from as far South as Redding and the Bay Area and supports a number of charitable causes including Toys for Tots and the Veteran’s Hospital in Yountville, CA. This is a club that is all about fun, learning more about new and classic Minis for the residents. The show was held in the caf- eteria, where Shasta Mini members, showing no shame, performed to great appreciation wearing Christmas-toy-themed costumes. Apart from the delivery of joy to our heroes, our focus was to deliver money that we had raised for their transportation fund. The vets do live in a beautiful facility, but with budget cuts, they are limited on being able to get out for picnics, ball games, shopping, museums, etc. So Shasta Minis raised $1000 to help provide fuel and maintenance funds, so our vets can enjoy some day trips. Redwood Empire Minis also raised $500 for the cause, so the grand total from the Mini community was $1500. If you would like to join Shasta Minis, or just accompany them on a run, contact them by visit- ing their blog at: www.mondo-minis.com/profiles/ blogs/shasta-minis-shasta. and driving on curvy roads and on the racetrack. One of their recent charitable events included a visit to the Veteran’s Hospital and Home this past Holiday Season. Five vets live at the home full time, performing at public functions around the area and helping returning vets learn how to operate and get mobile in their motorized wheelchairs. This group of vets, known as the Hills Angel Wheel Chair Drill Team guided us around the grounds and hallways at the home when the club showed up to do a holiday show 48 MC2 Magazine www.mc2magazine.com A Shasta Minis Th an ks to Nor m Nel s on & Li n da W is lon of
