There was only one entry in the Classic Mini division so first place was awarded to Freddy Schuoltz from South Florida. While casting their ballots for the Car Show, attendees were also invited to participate in the Chinese Raffle, where they could try to win over Devenney’s Irish Pub for lunch courtesy of Ferman MINI and then continuing on to the Lakeridge Winery for a tour of their winemaking facilities. Evening found us at the Outta Control Dinner Show, a comedy/magic show at the Wonderworks Museum. After dinner, we headed back to the ho- 50 prizes ranging from MINI paraphernalia - Key fob flash drives, hats, shirts, books, a back- pack, etc. to a flag flown over Iraq on 9-11 dedicated to Sunshine MINIs to a whole host of other great prizes. Proceeds from the Chinese Raffle provided four MINIs full of canned food donations and $1,200 in donations for Harbor House (www.harborhousefl.com), an Orlando area shelter for abused women. Friday night’s Welcome Dinner was held in one of the hotel’s banquet rooms where we were also treated to a video showcasing past Mickey and MINI events. The Car Show winners were announced before dinner and prizes were presented. After dinner we rallied to the nearby Fun Spot for go-karting and bumper cars, while others hung out at the hotel pool bar. From Fun Spot we hit the Orlando back roads for our an- nual Midnight Motoring Rally. Day Two started with a Morning Rally thru Disney property, going behind the scenes and thru local neighborhoods. Afternoon sent most attend- tel bar for Karaoke Night and were entertained by many MINI owners, some who could really sing, and some who couldn’t carry a tune in a basket!! It was a hilarious evening! The next morning, while many of us packed up to head home, others more reluctant to end the weekend set out for a couple of hours of bowling. Mickey and MINI offers MINIACs the chance to reunite with old friends, make new ones and experience Central Florida all while enjoying the fun of motoring in their MINIs. As they say at DisneyWorld, “It’s the happiest place on earth.” And how could it not be when the MINIs come to town? Each year the Mickey and MINI weekend coin- cides with Disney’s International Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT and this year was no exception. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that the MINI owners always leave an impression in their wake!
