clubs & events __________________________________________ combat support training center for the US Army on our way to Mission San Antonio de Padua. The roads through the base are fun to drive, with beautiful scenery, but as this is a working military base, certain rules will need to be fol- lowed. Keep an eye out for tanks and other military equipment as you drive. The Mission San Antonia de Padua (www.missionsanantonio.net) was Cal- ifornia’s third mission and dates from 1771; it is well restored and offers a wonderful glimpse back two centuries into early California life. The aqueduct system and water mill built in 1806 are amazing structures and the restored gardens are a beautiful, relaxing place to spend some time. After touring the Mission it was time to head for home, so we continued east to connect with Hwy 101 and then head south, arriving back home in time for dinner. CCMC was founded in 2004 for Mini owners in the San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara counties of California. We currently have 50 people (owning 30 cars) on email distribution, with about 23 regularly active members (owning 13 Minis). We average about six cars per event, but are hoping to attract more MINIs as time goes by. We welcome all Minis/MINIs. We have an event about every other month. We are very lucky to have many wonderful and un-crowded roads in our area, so most events are associated with exploring the central coast of California. To be added to our email list, contact CCMC at ccmc.club@gmail.com, or check out our club forum and calendar on the Central Coast Mini Coo- pers web pages in the Motoring Alliance forum: http://www.motoringalliance. com/forums/49/84/88/93/248/.
