Takes Home The Trophies In Florida heels Across the Pond held this past April 23rd in Carlin Park in the city of Jupiter, is the premier British Car Show in Southern Florida. This year’s show attracted over 2,000 spectators and had over 200 classic and antique cars on display, with the oldest being 85 years old. Many of the vehicles on display were valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Minis of Miami made a good showing at the event, even though many of our members were out of state and participating at the Minis On The Dragon. Although the Best In Show went to a 1929 Blower Bentley 4 ½ litre, which you’d sort of expect, our Minis (both classic and new) were recognized by the British car community (participant’s vote) for our outstanding cars . . . 1st place Classic Mini – Marcos Meilan’s 1973 Clubman Estate 2nd place Classic Mini – Jerry Barrow’s 1965 Austin Mini 1st place Modern MINI – Kem Dinally’s 2003 MCS 2nd place Modern MINI – Larry Brochfield’s 2010 Clubman JCW Best in Class - Kem Dinally’s 2003 MCS Marcos made a bold decision to show off the Clubman’s most distinguish- ing feature – we parked boot out!
